Mount Vernon, IL. – At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon in Mount Vernon, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident happened at 2:47 p.m. on southbound I-57 near milepost 92 on January 25.
Police said a jackknifed truck-tractor semi-trailer and six other vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances.
At least one person sustained minor injuries due to the crash.
Southbound lanes were blocked and traffic diverted at milepost 95.
