Police said a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Louisville woman was heading westbound on S. Banker Street when it hit a car operated by a 28-year-old Miami resident heading eastbound on W. Jaycee Ave.

Effingham, IL. – Two people were injured following a traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Effingham, according to the Effingham Police Department.
The accident occurred at 3:56 p.m. on January 19 on S. Banker Street and on W. Jaycee Ave.
Police said a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Louisville woman was heading westbound on S. Banker Street when it hit a car operated by a 28-year-old Miami resident heading eastbound on W. Jaycee Ave.
Two juveniles riding in the eastbound vehicle were injured in the collision. They were taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital by the Rural Med EMS.
The two vehicles were removed from the crash site by tow trucks.
Police cited the eastbound car driver for driving an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.
An investigation is underway.
