Ellensburg, WA. – A Washington State Department of Transportation worker was injured in a car accident on Friday night in Ellensburg, according to the WSP.

The collision happened around 7:52 p.m. on January 17 on Interstate 90 near milepost 115.

WSP said a commercial truck was traveling eastbound when it struck the WSDOT truck that was actively applying product to the roadway.

The WSDOT truck left the roadway after the collision and rolled over.

The WSDOT worker, a 32-year-old Kittitas man, was taken to Kittitas Valley Healthcare in unknown condition.

The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the commercial truck, a 29-year-old man from Mount Prospect, Illinois, was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. He was charged with DUI and endangering a roadway worker.

WSP is investigating the accident.
