Green Valley, AZ. – A 74-year-old woman was killed, and a man was injured after being struck by a car in a crosswalk in Green Valley on Monday morning.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 9:34 a.m. at East Esperanza Boulevard and the Interstate 19 southbound.
According to deputies, the two pedestrians were in the crosswalk when they were hit by a vehicle.
Both pedestrians were taken to Banner University Medical Center Main Campus, where a 74-year-old woman died.
The male pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the driver was issued a citation for causing serious physical injury by moving violation.
Impairment was not a factor in the crash, investigators said
