A passenger, identified as 27-year-old Clearwater woman, was thrown out of the car. She was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

St. Petersburg, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision that killed a Clearwater woman early Sunday morning in St. Petersburg.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes just beyond the rest area on Sunshine Skyway Bridge at around 4:00 a.m. on November 23.
According to troopers, a 21-year-old man from Pinellas Park was driving a Chevrolet Colorado southbound when he fell asleep and the vehicle went off the roadway. The Chevrolet hit a tree before slamming into a guardrail.

The driver and two other passengers were not hurt in the collision.
No one has been charged in relation to the accident.
All southbound lanes of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge were closed for several hours after the accident.
