Tucson, AZ – A woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead earlier this month in Tucson, according to the authorities.

Jazmin Montano-Granados, 27, was arrested on August 27 and charged with failure to stay at the scene of an accident and was being held at the Pima County Jail.

The deadly accident happened around 2:00 a.m. on August 10 near East 22nd Street and South Park Avenue.

Authorities said an SUV was traveling westbound when it struck Izaah Josiah Ahley who was attempting to cross the street, outside of a marked crosswalk.

Ahley was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The SUV fled the scene and was later found unoccupied.

Montano-Granados met with officers on August 27 and was arrested and charged in connection to the accident.

Attempting to cross outside of the crosswalk was a factor in the accident.

The police are investigating the accident.
