Kevin Austin and Glen Meyers Killed in Crash on SR-140 in Humboldt County

The deadly collision happened just after 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 on State Route 140 near mile marker 95 in Humboldt County, about 15 miles southeast of the Oregon state line.

Humboldt County, AZ – Two people – identified as 52-year-old Kevin Austin, of Riverdale, Utah, and 61-year-old Glen Meyers, of Sun Valley, Nevada, are dead after a crash on SR 140 in Humboldt County near the Oregon State Line.

The deadly collision happened just after 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 on State Route 140 near mile marker 95 in Humboldt County, about 15 miles southeast of the Oregon state line.

According to Nevada State Police, a blue Ford F-150 truck was traveling northbound on SR-140. The driver of the truck pulled over in the northbound travel lane and the three people inside the F-150 got out to tend to the dogs who were kenneled in the truck bed.

That’s when a white Hyundai Tucson was heading north on SR-140 when it crashed into the back of the F-150 and two passengers who were standing behind the truck.

After the collision, the Hyundai’s front end got wedged beneath the truck’s rear.

The two truck passengers, later identified as Kevin Austin and Glen Meyers, were killed in the crash. The Hyundai driver was critically injured and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The truck driver was not hurt.

Investigators said impairment is suspected in this deadly incident.
