Edwardsville, IL. – Seven people were hospitalized following a traffic collision on Tuesday night in Edwardsville, according to Edwardsville Fire Department.
The accident occurred a while after 10:00 p.m. June 17, at Governors Parkway and Ridge View Road.

One of the vehicles overturned on its side down an embankment. The two vehicles sustained damage following the crash.
Seven persons sustained injuries due to the collision and were taken to area hospitals by ambulance. Several sustained severe non-life threatening injuries.
One of the passengers was pinned inside and was extricated.
Police closed Governors Parkway temporarily to give room to rescue operation.
The ambulances at the scene were from Edwardsville, Troy, Maryville and Glen Carbon fire departments.
An investigation is underway.
