Phoenix, AZ – A man on a motorized scooter was killed after being struck by an SUV in an intersection in Phoenix on Monday afternoon, according to Phoenix police.

The crash occurred just before 1:30 p.m. at Seventh Avenue and Missouri Avenue, south of Bethany Home Road.

Officials said a 53-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter in the crosswalk heading west on Missouri Avenue when an SUV traveling north on Seventh Avenue turned right and collided with them.

The man was transported to a hospital, where they later died. The driver remained on the scene, and authorities said impairment does not appear to have been a factor. No arrests have been reported.

Police stated that any potential charges will be determined after the investigation is complete.

The incident remains under investigation.
