Deputies said a 52-year-old Sterling woman was driving her 2015 Dodge Journey northbound on Carriage Hill Drive and was trying to turn into Palmyra Road. At the same time, a 16-year-old driver from Mount Morris was driving a 2012 Hyundai sedan eastbound on Palmyra Road. The two cars crashed at the junction.

Sterling, IL. – Three teenagers and a 52-year-old woman were hospitalized after a crash late Wednesday morning in rural Sterling, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at the Palmyra Road and Carriage Hill Drive intersection at about 11:30 a.m. on March 18.
Deputies said a 52-year-old Sterling woman was driving her 2015 Dodge Journey northbound on Carriage Hill Drive and was trying to turn into Palmyra Road. At the same time, a 16-year-old driver from Mount Morris was driving a 2012 Hyundai sedan eastbound on Palmyra Road. The two cars crashed at the junction.
The 16-year-old Hyundai driver was flown to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
The woman and two Hyundai passengers, a 19-year-old Tampico resident and a 17-year-old Morrison resident, were transported to CGH Medical Center.
An investigation is ongoing.
