2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Turtlemound Road in New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach, FL.- Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in New Smyrna Beach on Monday afternoon, according to the New Smyrna Beach Police Department.

The incident took place in the 7300 block of Turtlemound Road at about 1 p.m. on Monday, March 31.

According to the report, a Volusia Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a driver for reckless driving near Third and South Peninsula avenues but the driver fled from the area.

Shortly after, the driver collided with four other vehicles on the west side of South Causeway Bridge.

The suspect and one other party involved in the accident were taken to hospital for treatment.

No further details were released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
