2 Injured in Multi-Car Crash on Illinois Route 84 and Lock Road

Whiteside County, IL. – Two persons were hurt after a multi-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Whiteside County in rural Fulton, according to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened at around 6:15 a.m. on Route 84 near the intersection of Lock Road.

Authorities confirmed four vehicles were involved in the accident.

Officials said a MidAmerican Energy white Freightliner bucket truck operated by 27-year-old Nathan Brown of Elizabeth was heading northbound on Route 84, just south of Lock Road.

The truck then crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane where it hit two oncoming cars, a Kia sedan and a Buick crossover. A southbound Dodge crossover hit the Kia’s engine which had detached during the initial crash.

The Kia driver was flown to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Buick driver was rushed to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Dodge driver was not hurt in the accident.

 Brown was cited for improperly using lanes.

An investigation is ongoing.
