Orange County, FL – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Orlando early Friday morning, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Rhode Island Woods Circle and Fairway Glen Drive at around 5:20 a.m.
A 19-year-old Orlando man was reportedly driving a 2017 Honda Civic westbound on Rhode Island Woods Circle when a 2017 Chevy Equinox traveling ahead of him tried to turn left onto Fairway Glen Drive.
The Orlando driver tried to move to the eastbound lane to overtake the Chevy but slammed into its left side.
After the collision, the Honda drifted off the roadway and ended up hitting a wall.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the Chevy, a 19-year-old woman, stayed at the scene of the collision.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
