The 46-year-old LaSalle man was transported to a local hospital where he died while receiving treatment

LaSalle, IL. – A bicyclist died after being struck by a car in LaSalle on Sunday, February 9.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 6:03 p.m. near Illinois Route 251 and North 16th Road.
A car and bicycle were traveling south on Illinois Route 251 when the car allegedly struck the bicycle.
The bicyclist, 46-year-old Jacob Crouch of LaSalle, was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.
The driver of the car, a 35-year-old Lostant man, and a juvenile passenger were not injured where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver and passenger in the vehicle were not injured.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
