Orlando, FL – One person was killed in a car accident in Southchase on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision on Orange Blossom Trail and Hunter’s Creek Boulevard at about 12:15 a.m. February 16.
A 2025 Volkswagen Atlas was traveling south on Orange Blossom Trail in the center lane when it slammed into the rear of a 2012 Mazda 3 that was stopped for a light at the intersection.
The two drivers were rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where the Mazda driver, a 55-year-old man, was pronounced deceased.
The SUV driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The intersection was shut down temporarily as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
