Phoenix man dies in motorcycle accident at U.S. 41 and Florida Boulevard in South Manatee County

South Manatee County, FL. – One person was killed in a motorcycle accident that left three others injured in the Bradenton area of South Manatee County at around 9:05 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:05 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 (14th Street West) and Florida Boulevard.
A 50-year-old Phoenix man was riding a motorcycle southbound on U.S. 41 with a 56-year-old North Port woman onboard.
At the same time, an 81-year-old Bradenton woman was driving a sedan northbound on U.S. 41 with an 86-year-old Bradenton man in a passenger’s seat.
The Bradenton woman attempted to turn left onto Florida Boulevard and struck the motorcycle.
The Phoenix man died at the scene.
The North Port woman was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Bradenton man riding in the car was hospitalized with serious injuries, while the Bradenton woman suffered minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
