Pembroke Pines Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the crash site in the area of Dykes Road and Northwest 12th Street, just outside of the Royal Bay neighborhood, at around 6:30 p.m.
Pembroke Pines, FL – One person was killed and five others injured in a two-vehicle collision on Dykes Road in Pembroke Pines Friday evening.
Pembroke Pines Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the crash site in the area of Dykes Road and Northwest 12th Street, just outside of the Royal Bay neighborhood, at around 6:30 p.m.
Two vehicles were located at the crash site. However, the circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately established.
One person was declared dead at the scene.
Five people were transported to the hospital for treatment, but their conditions were unknown.
The police shut down all southbound lanes of Northwest 160th Avenue between Pines Boulevard and Sheridan Street.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Additional details regarding the crash were not available.
An investigation to determine the cause of the collision is underway.
