Columbia County, FL – One person was killed and two others were hurt in a collision that took place in Columbia County on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on County Road 245 near Southeast Robert Cox Terrace at about 6:50 a.m.
According to the report, a 35-year-old Lake City man was driving south on County Road 245 when he drifted into the oncoming lane at a curve and collided with a sedan and a pickup truck.
The impact sent the sedan off the roadway and into a ditch.
The Lake City driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 37-year-old Lake Butler man driving the sedan and the 64-year-old Lake City man driving the truck were both taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
According to FHP, the deceased driver and the driver of the sedan were not wearing their seatbelts.
The incident is under investigation.
