Authorities have identified Tyler Moyer, age 30, as the man fatally shot by the Alaska State Troopers during an attempted arrest at a campground in Anchor Point.
According to official statements, troopers were attempting to take Moyer into custody on felony warrants related to sexual abuse of a minor. Troopers located him inside a vehicle and ordered him to exit.
Law enforcement reports indicate that Moyer allegedly attempted to flee on foot and brandished a knife during the encounter. Officers then shot and killed him at the scene.
