Mesa, AZ – An elderly man who was hit and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Mesa on Friday morning has been identified as 81-year-old Richard Chamblin.
The incident happened at 76th Street and McDowell Road at about 9:30 a.m. April 4.
According to authorities, Chamblin was crossing north Ridgecrest from the east to west side when he stepped into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle. Chamblin sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mesa, AZ – An elderly pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Mesa on Friday morning, according to the Mesa Police Department.
The incident happened at 76th Street and McDowell Road at about 9:30 a.m. April 4.
According to Mesa police, the elderly man was hit by a car just east of the Loop 202 Freeway.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No further details were released.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
