Las Cruces, New Mexico — October 9, 2025: Authorities identified Philip Adrian Mullin, age 50, as the man shot and killed by officers with the Las Cruces Police Department following a reported disturbance outside a restaurant on South Telshor Boulevard.
According to reports, officers responded to calls that a man was allegedly threatening people at a local restaurant. Responding officers located Mullin in the parking lot, where police claim he approached them while armed with a hammer. Authorities say Mullin ignored repeated verbal commands, at which point an officer fired, fatally striking him. The listed cause of death is gunshot. The case remains under pending investigation.
