Authorities said a pickup truck and another vehicle crashed head-on.
Peoria Heights, IL. – A 30-year-old woman was killed following a two-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Peoria Heights, according to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
The accident occurred at around 6:45 a.m. on Route 29 between E. Gardner Lane and E. Riverview Court.
Authorities said a pickup truck and another vehicle crashed head-on.
The woman was declared dead at the crash site at around 8:15 a.m.
The truck driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital and is in a stable condition.
All the lanes were closed by the Illinois State Police following the crash. The roadway was later reopened at around 10:04 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
