Troopers said a 69-year-old New Boston, Michigan, man was heading northbound on County Road 473 in a 2023 Ford Explorer when the SUV went off the roadway and slammed into a tree.

Leesburg, FL. – A woman was killed and a man severely hurt following a vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon in Leesburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 2:10 p.m. on March 19, on County Road 473 near Allyson Road.
Troopers said a 69-year-old New Boston, Michigan, man was heading northbound on County Road 473 in a 2023 Ford Explorer when the SUV went off the roadway and slammed into a tree.
The driver was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
His passenger, a 69-year-old woman, also from New Boston, Michigan, was rushed to AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares where she was declared dead at the crash site.
