According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on County Road 54 near Retail Road.

A Jeep Compass operated by a 35-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel exited Retail Road and attempted to enter a center turn lane on CR-54 and struck a westbound motorcycle.
The 61-year-old motorcyclist sustained injuries and was taken to the local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The condition of the SUV driver was not released.
