Police said a 37-year-old man was driving a 2025 Tesla Model Y when he suffered a medical emergency and ended up sideswiping another car before his Tesla went off the road, slammed into a tree and burst into flames.

Naperville, IL. – A man was injured after a fiery collision on Friday afternoon in Naperville, according to the Naperville Police Department.
The accident happened on January 9, on Route 59 near Cantore Road.
Police said a 37-year-old man was driving a 2025 Tesla Model Y when he suffered a medical emergency and ended up sideswiping another car before his Tesla went off the road, slammed into a tree and burst into flames.
An off-duty Naperville police officer witnessed the collision and assisted the driver out of the Tesla.
The Tesla driver sustained minor burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police closed Route 59 to give the fire officials time to put out the fire.
