A passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Tacoma, WA. – Two people were in a head-on collision in Tacoma on Thursday afternoon, according to the police.
The fatal collision happened around 4:00 p.m. on March 5, in the 2000 block of Yakima Avenue.
Police said a vehicle was traveling southbound while another was traveling northbound.
One of the vehicles crossed the centerline, and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A dog in her vehicle also died in the accident.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, also a woman, was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Her passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision closed the roadway for several hours.
The Tacoma Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
