Phoenix, AZ – The 25-year-old man who was killed in a collision involving a teen driver at an intersection in Phoenix early Saturday has been identified.

Phoenix police identified the man as Roberto Olivas.

Investigators said Olivas was speeding when he crashed into a car operated by a male teen near the intersection of 18th and Van Buren streets at about 4:30 a.m. on July 12.

Olivas was critically injured and was transported to a hospital where he later died.

The teen and his passengers left the scene but were later located by the police at their home. The teen confirmed that he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.

Phoenix, AZ – A 25-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Central Phoenix, according to the police.

The fatal accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on July 12 near 18th and Van Buren streets.

Police said the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he crashed into another car driven by a teen.

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.

The teen and his passengers fled the scene, but officers found them at their home.

Impairment was not a factor in the accident.

The police are investigating the accident.
