The Ford motorist, a 48-year-old Deltona man, was driving in the left lane towards S.R. 415 when he tried to turn left onto northbound S.R. and entered directly into the path of the rider.

Volusia County, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol and Volusia Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that killed a 60-year-old Ormond Beach man on Friday morning near Osteen in Volusia County.
According to troopers, the deadly collision happened at about 7:15 a.m. on State Road 415 at Fort Smith Boulevard.
The FHP report revealed the Ormond Beach man was riding his motorcycle southbound on S.R. and was heading to Fort Smith Boulevard in the outside lane when he crashed into a 2016 Ford Fusion traveling east on Fort Smith Boulevard.

The motorcycle’s front hit the left side of the Ford.
The rider was rushed to the hospital where he died.
The motorcyclist was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The Deltona man sustained severe injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigators closed lanes in both directions of State Road 415 to give way to investigations.
Northbound traffic was diverted to Howland Boulevard while southbound traffic to Noremac Avenue.
Troopers said the road has since been cleared
An investigation is ongoing.
