Marion County, FL. – A 22-year-old Deer Island man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at around 9:23 p.m. on March 21, on southbound I-75 near mile marker 349.
Troopers said the man was riding a motorcycle in the outside lane when a sedan rear-ended the bike. The motorcyclist was ejected from his motorcycle into the path of a sports utility vehicle traveling in the center lane.
The rider was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
No one else was hurt in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
