According to Phoenix police, the accident occurred around 2:37 p.m. near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

Authorities say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.

First responders found a woman alert but in serious condition, and she was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made, and the driver and vehicle involved remain unidentified.
