Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle for reasons still under investigation.

Lacey, WA. – A pedestrian was killed after a traffic collision on Wednesday night in Lacey, Thurston County, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department.
The deadly crash happened a while after 9:00 p.m. on July 30, at milepost 108 of southbound I-5 near Sleater Kinney Road.
Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle for reasons still under investigation.
Witnesses said the pedestrian had laid down on the roadway and was hit by the vehicle.
The victim died as they were ferried to the hospital.
The involved driver fled the scene.
The two center lanes of Interstate 5 were closed following the accident. The roadway was reopened at around 11:33 p.m.
No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
