Salem, OR. – A 71-year-old woman died after being hit by a car in Salem early Wednesday morning.
According to the Salem Police Department, the accident happened around 7:26 a.m. at Northeast Pine Street and Northeast Brooks Avenue.
Nina Elsom was crossing a street and was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by Patrick Neufeld, 38.

Neufeld remained at the scene and cooperated with police
