Monroe, WA. – A 26-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Monroe early Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 a.m. near the 18800 block of westbound US 2.
Authorities said the woman was struck by an unmarked King County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in an uncontrolled section of the highway.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
The driver, a King County Sheriff’s employee, cooperated with the investigators.
The accident closed the westbound lanes of US 2 for about three hours.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
