Martin Tammekivi Dies in Lane County Accident

Lane County, OR – A man was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 58 in Lane County early Monday morning, according to Oregon State Police.

The deadly collision happened on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., on Highway 58, near milepost 18.

The OSP identified the deceased party as Martin Tammekivi, 37, of Oregon City. The injured party was identified as Benjamin Norman Myles, 28, of Eugene.

OSP said Tammekivi was driving a Toyota Hilux westbound approaching slowed traffic when he entered the eastbound lane and the Hilux was struck on the passenger side door by an eastbound Dodge 2500 operated by Myles.

Tammekivi was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Myles sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The highway shut down for about four hours during the on-scene investigation.
