Tucson, AZ – A man was killed Saturday morning in a rear-end collision in Tucson, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 3:00 a.m. on August 23 on Barraza-Aviation Parkway near the Kino overpass.

Police said Mark William Haffner, 64, was driving a Toyota Tacoma eastbound when he experienced a flat tire and pulled to the right shoulder. An eastbound Avalanche crossed the solid white line and rear-ended the Tacoma.

Haffner, who was seated in the Tacoma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Avalanche, 34-year-old Carlos Samaniego, Jr., was impaired at the time of the accident and was charged with second-degree murder.

The police are investigating the accident.
