Gallegos and the other driver, a man, were taken to the hospital, where Gallegos later died

Laveen, AZ. – The man who was killed early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Laveen has been identified as 28-year-old Jose Gallegos, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 3:00 a.m. on August 28 at the intersection of 31st Avenue and Southern Avenue.
Police said Gallegos was driving southbound on 31st Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another vehicle.
Gallegos and the other driver, a man, were taken to the hospital, where Gallegos later died. The other driver had minor injuries.
Impairment was not a contributing factor in the accident.
The accident closed the intersection for several hours.
Police are investigating the accident.
