Beecher, IL. – An off-duty Joliet police officer was killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Beecher in Will County on Friday morning.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 11:45 a.m. near the intersection of Illinois Route 1 and Eagle Lake Road.
A pickup truck, a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle were involved in the collision.
Sergeant Hollis Weller, 47, was killed in the collision.
Weller was a 20-year veteran of the department and was promoted to Sergeant in July 2020.
