Sumter County, FL. – A 27-year-old driver from Inverness was killed after a traffic collision on Friday morning in Sumter County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on February 6, on Interstate 75.
Troopers said the man was heading east on County Road-462 when he lost control of the car and drove off an overpass. The male driver landed on the Interstate 75 and his car crashed into a second car operated by a 61-year-old man from Georgia.
The second car stopped on the outside shoulder of the interstate.
The Georgia man sustained minor injuries due to the collision.
The Inverness man was killed in the accident.
