Elko County, NV. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Elko County on December 23.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:35 a.m. on Interstate 80 near Elko County mile marker 4.
A pedestrian who was a driver in a separate crash that occurred on the ramp to Interstate 80 got out of the vehicle and went to the eastbound lane of Interstate 80.
The victim was hit by a gray Volkswagen on the outside shoulder.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen was unhurt in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
