The deadly accident happened around 8:48 p.m. on July 31 on Highway 228 near milepost 2.

Linn County, OR – A man was killed on Thursday in a pedestrian accident in Linn County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The deadly accident happened around 8:48 p.m. on July 31 on Highway 228 near milepost 2.
Police said Elijah A. Copeland, 46, of Eugene, left a red Toyota Tacoma and entered the westbound lane on foot for an unknown reason. Justin Cane Clark, 39, of Junction City, was driving a white Dodge Ram towing a utility trailer westbound when the trailer hit Copeland.
Copeland was declared dead at the scene.
Clark and his passenger, Mikala Frances Craigmiles, 38, of Junction City, were uninjured in the accident.
The accident closed the highway for about 2.5 hours.
The police are investigating the accident.
