The fatal collision happened around 6:15 p.m. on July 17 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Picacho, roughly five miles outside of Eloy.
Pinal County, AZ – The two people who were killed on Thursday in a head-on collision in Pinal County have been identified as Elias Solano, 18, and Jatziry Rios Alvarado, 18, both from Phoenix, according to the Arizona DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 6:15 p.m. on July 17 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Picacho, roughly five miles outside of Eloy.
DPS said a black Jeep Cherokee SUV was traveling eastbound when it suddenly veered left and crossed the median into westbound traffic where it crashed head-on into a white Ram pickup truck.
The Jeep driver, Solano and his passenger, Alvarado, were ejected and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
