Troopers said the man was driving southbound on the bridge when he did not yield to construction workers and entered a closed lane in the active construction zone and slammed into a Ford F-550 working in the construction zone.

St. Petersburg, FL. – A 37-year-old man from Musella, Georgia, was killed, three construction workers injured following a traffic collision on Monday night in St. Petersburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred a while before 10:00 p.m. January 12, on Howard Frankland Bridge.
Troopers said the man was driving southbound on the bridge when he did not yield to construction workers and entered a closed lane in the active construction zone and slammed into a Ford F-550 working in the construction zone.
A Nissan Titan, operated by an 18-year-old Largo man, heading southbound on the bridge was hit by the debris from the collision.
The Georgia man was killed in the crash.
The 45-year-old Tampa man driving the Ford F-550 and two other construction workers aboard the truck were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Nissan driver was not injured in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
