Batavia, IL. – Three people were hospitalized after a jeep crashed into a pizzeria on Wednesday afternoon in Batavia, according to the Batavia Police Department.
The deadly collision occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on December 24, at 322 E Wilson Street in a private property parking lot for Rosati’s Pizza.
Police said a 77-year-old man was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he picked an order at the Rosati’s Pizza Restaurant. After picking the order, the driver said he experienced mechanical issues with his gear shift, so he put the vehicle in drive and slammed into the restaurant’s front.

Police believe that the driver may have experienced a medical issue at the time of the accident.
