OSP said David Dickey was driving a white GMC Yukon eastbound on Highway 58 when, for some reason, the vehicle entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with a gray Volvo semi-truck hauling a 52-foot box trailer.

Lane County, OR – A 45-year-old Portland man, identified as David William Dickey, was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 58 in Lane County Tuesday morning, according to Oregon State Police.
The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at about 6:26 a.m. on June 3, 2025, on Highway 58 near milepost 36.5.
OSP said David Dickey was driving a white GMC Yukon eastbound on Highway 58 when, for some reason, the vehicle entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with a gray Volvo semi-truck hauling a 52-foot box trailer.
Dickey was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the big rig, identified as 40-year-old Alymbek Baikeev of Forest Hills, New York, was not hurt.
The roadway was shut down for three hours as crews worked at the scene.
No additional details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
