Collinsville Woman Killed in Car Accident on I-64 at Mile Marker 14 in O’Fallon

O’Fallon, IL. – A Collinsville woman was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning in a construction zone in O’Fallon, according to the Illinois State Police.

The crash happened at around 8:00 a.m. November 18, on Interstate 64 at mile marker 14 near the U.S. 50 exit.

Police said two tractor trailers; a Ford Bronco and a utility work truck collided in unclear circumstances.

The Ford driver, a 35-year-old Collinsville woman, was declared dead at the scene. 

None of the construction zone workers was injured in the crash.

The construction roadwork is part of the Illinois Department of Transportation’s preparations for upcoming improvements to the Exit 16 ramp at Green Mount Road, along with additional construction planned on I-64.

No additional information concerning the collision was provided.

An investigation is underway.
