A vehicle was southbound on the highway and was turning left and was hit by a northbound car
Ogle County, IL. – Two drivers were injured in a car accident at the entrance of the Castle Rock overlook in Castle Rock State Park in Ogle County on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in the 3000 block Route 2, between Oregon and Dixon, at around 2:48 p.m.
Ismael Barrios, 23, of Mt. Morris, was driving a vehicle southbound on the highway when he failed to yield when turning left and was hit by a northbound car driven by 29-year-old Cody Stahl, of Amboy.
Barrios’ vehicle overturned into a ditch after the collision.
Barrios and Stahl sustained minor injuries in the accident.
A passenger in Barrios’ car, 26-year-old Bonnie Chapman, of Mt. Morris, was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
