A Mazda Miata attempted a left turn without yielding, resulting in a high-impact collision with an eastbound Toyota Sienna.

Cochise County, AZ. – One person was killed, and several others were injured after two vehicles collided on Tuesday evening in Cochise County, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The accident happened around 4:44 p.m. on SR-92.

Investigators said the driver of a Mazda Miata attempted to make a left turn but failed to yield, placing the car in the path of an eastbound Toyota Sienna.

The Toyota struck the Mazda moments later.

The Mazda’s driver died at the scene.

The passenger in the vehicle was airlifted for further treatment but was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passengers of the Toyota sustained minor injuries

 No additional details, including the identity of the deceased driver, have been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
