Clovis, N.M. – A 22-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon in Clovis.

According to the Clovis Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of 21st Street and Prince Street at around 5:58 p.m.

A motorcycle was heading south on Prince Street through a green traffic signal when a vehicle attempted a left turn in front of it.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist struck the car and was ejected, striking the windshield and landing on the roadway.

He was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and later flown to a hospital in Lubbock, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center.

An investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
