The 43-year-old St. Helens woman who was driving the Lexus was taken to hospital with serious injuries

Columbia County, OR. – One person was killed in a rear-end collision on Saturday night in Columbia County.
According to Oregon State Police, the accident happened around 9:14 p.m. on Highway 30, near milepost 22.
A Dodge Nitro was speeding when it rear-ended a Lexus R330. The impact of the collision sent the Lexus off the roadway and came to rest on nearby train tracks.
37-year-old Christopher Michael Casillas, of Everett, Wash., was a passenger in the Lexus and was ejected.
The man died at the scene.
The 43-year-old St. Helens woman who was driving the Lexus was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge, 70-year-old Gary E. Fowler, of Deer Island, was hospitalized with minor injuries. He was later arrested and booked into the Columbia County Jail for driving under the influence of intoxicants
