Edgewood, NM. – A child who was injured after being struck by a car at a business on Sunday in Edgewood has died.

According to police, the accident happened at an auto parts store on State Highway 333.

A car reportedly hit an uneven spot, causing the passenger door to open. A two-year-old child fell out of the vehicle and was run over by the car.

The child was taken to UNM Hospital, where they later died.

Police have not identified the child, and charges have not been filed in the incident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
